Quilters love to make the most of their fabric scraps and Karla from The Woman On The Hill is no exception. In this project, instead of using several charm packs or cutting yardage, she used fabric scraps to make pieced strips at practically no cost! The technique described in this post calls for regular adding machine paper to use as a backing and template to paper piece the scraps. Kartla was able to get 3 rolls for just 6 dollars. That’s a pretty good price! The pieced strips can become part of a block, used for sashing or even borders – the possibilities are endless! If you aren’t a quilter, you can use this method to create a contrast hem or accent on a bag. Learn the technique in The Woman on the Hill’s Scrap Paper Piecing Tutorial.
